Weekend 6: Final Game (07 May 2004)

1. ICC won its second DCL championship when it defeated Coppell Showkeens in the finals. ICC struggled to put a low score of 88 runs on the board but their bowlers ripped through the Coppell Showkeens batting line up to claim their second championship title in a row. Alok emerged the most successful bowler by taking 3 wickets in 5 overs for only 8 runs to claim the man of the match award. Mayur (ICC) batted brilliantly to give his side a decent total by scoring 27 runs. The Winding Hollow ground proved to be a bowlers paradise (due to those thunderstorms few days ago) where every batsman struggled to put on a score.
2. Satish (Galli Challengers) was chosen as the Best Batsman for his 96 runs in 94 balls from 3 matches. He beat Hari (Wilson CC) by his better average and better strike rate.
3. Imran (Coppell Showkeens) was chosen as the Best Bowler for his 11 wickets and economical bowling. He beat Shridhar (ICC) who had taken 10 wicket in the tournament.

Weekend 5: SemiFinals (01/02 May 2004)

1. Coppell Showkeens defeated Wilson CC in a low scoring thriller where the last ball decided the winner. Superb bowling by Wilson CC restricted Coppell Showkeens to a low score of 81 runs. But quick early wickets by Coppell Showkeens brought them back in the game. Narsimhan and Amir from Wilson CC put their team in a winning position when 5 runs were required of 12 balls with 3 wickets in hand. Coppel Showkeens bowlers struck again claiming both their wickets and denying the 4 runs required of the last 8 balls.
2. Defending champions ICC defeated Galli Challengers with a superb bowling performance. ICC scored 110 runs and restricted Galli challengers to just 56 runs to make their second consecutive appearance in the tournament finals.

Weekend 4: (24/25 April 2004)

1. Warriors have been knocked off the tournament due to bad weather. After rescheduling the match 2 times, mother nature spoiled their only chance to get into the semifinals. They get 2 points after their match with Galli Challengers was finally abandoned.
2. Galli Challengers and Wilson CC gets through to the semifinals from Group B and will face ICC and Coppell Showkeens from group A respectively.
3. The Semifinal matches have been re-scheduled to the next weekend due to bad whether.

Weekend 3: (17/18 April 2004)

1. Wilson CC defeated the Warriors by 1 wicket in a thriller keeping their hopes alive to qualify for the semi finals. Zia's 5 wicket haul helped restrict the Warriors but Uday Kiran's 5 wicket haul almost took the match away from Wilson CC.
2. Economical bowling and Amir's unbeaten 39 helped Coppell Showkeens defeat the Pacers.
3. Satish's economical bowling and 27 runs with the bat helped Galli Challengers defeat Mavs CC.
4. Alok and Shiva shared 3 wickets each for ICC and restricted Dum Maro Dum to a very low score to win comfortably. Dum Maro Dum's Radhe Krishna claimed 5 wickets to provide some resistance. ICC qualified for the semi finals with Coppel Showkeens on the basis of their net run rate.

Weekend 2: (10/11 April 2004)

1. Good bowling performance and Shiva's explosive half century (54 runs in 24 balls) helped ICC defeat the Pacers comfortably.
2. Shirish scored 38 runs to put a healthy total and lead the Warriors to victory against Mavs CC.
3. Satish's knock of 47 runs in 42 balls and economical bowling helped Galli Challengers defeat Wilson CC.
4. Vinod scored 46 runs in 37 balls and remained not out to lead Dum Maro Dum to victory against the Coppell Showkeens.

Weekend 1: (3/4 April 2004)

1. Superb bowling performance helped Wilson CC defeat Mavs CC. Hari scored a magnificient half century (56 runs in 56 balls) and Nivendan provided some fireworks (26 runs in 18 balls) to post a decent total for Wilson CC.
2. Imran's 4 wicket haul helped Coppell Showkeens restrict the defending champians ICC to a low score of 84 runs to win comfortably.
3. Good batting and bowling performance helped Dum Maro Dum cruise to victory against the Pacers.
4. Galli Challengers and Warriors match has been rescheduled to be played on Saturday 24th April.


After a successful Fall 2003 tournament, Dallas Cricket League is conducting the Spring 2004, 25 overs tennis ball cricket tournament starting on 3rd April that would last for around 4/5 weekends. Matches will be played on Saturday's and Sunday's and each team would play exactly 1 match per weekend. This would be a fun filled event as this is the second time we are bringing all the tennis ball cricket teams for a 25 overs tournament in the Dallas-Fortworth area.

Tournament Format

The tournament format depends upon the number of registered teams. We are expecting 8 teams to participate for the tournament. The teams would be divided into 2 groups A and B each having 4 teams. Each team will play with the other 3 teams in that group to qualify for the semi-finals. The teams are ranked based on the points earned and the top 2 teams from each group would qualify for the semifinals. Net Run Rate would be considered in case of a tie to rank the team

The points awarded would be:
Win = 4 points
Draw = 2 points
Loss = 0 points.

The tournament matches would be held on the following 3 grounds in Dallas and Plano.

Winding Hollow Ground: In Plano at the intersection of Plano Parkway and Winding Hollow.
Frankford Ground: In North Dallas at the intersection of Coit and Frankford.
Wilson Ground: In Plano at the intersection of Plano Parkway and Custor.
